Oakdene Road
Formerly called Tanyard Lane, after the tannery that stood on the site (see Image). On the left is one of the remaining outbuildings, now called the Old Tannery, and now used by a number of small businesses.

Oakdene Road
This former warehouse stands opposite the site of the former tannery in this part of Redhill (see Image). It is not clear whether it was directly connected with the tannery, though.

The Tannery
This road was built on the site of the oldest and largest tannery in the area, having certainly been in existnece in the seventeenth century, if not earlier, and not closing until 1961. It was eventually largely demolished, only a few outhouses being retained (see Image), the rest of the site being used for housing, including this road which commemorates the former use of the site.
