Architectural melange

Horse and Groom public house
On the corner of Denne Road and East Street opposite Image Opened circa 1844 (according to Henry Burstow's 'Reminiscences of Horsham' http://www.folk-network.com/miscellany/burstow/burstow_2.html - page 18). For a few years in the (very) late twentieth century it went under the name of The Tut 'n' Shive.

Horse and Groom closed after police raid
Image was raided by police on Thursday 7th August 2008 under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Drugs, and evidence of drugs use, found in the private and public area of the pub were sufficient to warrant the police taking possession of the site under the Antisocial Behaviour Act and closing it for three months.
