Heron, Maidenbower Pond
It was tricky getting a view of this, the waterside growth really needs cutting back. An attempted improved shot was scotched by the bird flying off to another spot in the pond where the view was even more obscured.

Causeway, Maidenbower Pond
The pond is divided into three by two causeways at normal water levels, that is when not acting as a balancing pond for the Gatwick Stream. The causeways have open channels across them, making a crossing awkward, particularly for this one. There is drainage into the pond on the right with a high iron content, hence the brown water.
