59 and 60, Woolhampton
These are two grade II listed cottages which have recently been renovated. An external beam carries the date 1684 so not surprisingly they are 17th C construction. English Heritage Building ID: 39688. See: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-39688-59-and-60-woolhampton

Part of Douai Abbey Monastery
"Douai Abbey is home to a community of monks of the English Benedictine Congregation. The monastery is under the patronage of St Edmund, King & Martyr, and was founded in Paris in 1615. Uprooted by the French Revolution it settled at Douai in Flanders, and finally returned to England in 1903, settling at Woolhampton in Berkshire." from the Abbey website. http://www.douaiabbey.org.uk
