Reading the small print at the base, the pump was made by Barrett, Exall & Andrews, Engineers, Reading. And right at the bottom, "This Palmer Pump was restored with funds raised in June 2012 by Sonning Scarecrow" The Bull Inn is just around the corner to the left of this picture.

Old Milestone by the B478 in Sonning
Carved stone post by the B478, in parish of Sonning (Wokingham District), Thames Street; opposite the Deanery, in an old brick wall on the pavement, on North side of road. Bath Road Caversham stone, erected by the Twyford & Theale turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription once read:- (London) (36) Berkshire Archaeology HER.
