In a corner of the cemetery
This corner of Reading cemetery is for babies who have died; their names are listed on the walls behind the stone here. It's probably the saddest area in the cemetery.

Reading Crematorium
What it says! The cemetery takes up much of the square although frustratingly there seems to be only one entrance. This is where I said goodbye to my dad in 1977.

A line of Graves
I had a good reason to come back to Reading cemetery in Caversham and that was to find the graves of 41 people who were killed in a bombing raid during the Second World War. They lie buried along here, the second headstone is the first of them.

Killed by Enemy Action
There were 41 people killed in the air raid on Reading which took place on the 10/02/1943. A restaurant called the Peoples Pantry took the brunt of the casualties. The words written on the headstone read :- "Here lie the unidentified remains of two persons killed by enemy action 10th Feb 1943 Rest Eternal Grant unto Them O Lord". On Sunday the 10th February 2013 a memorial to the people who died will at last be unveiled.

Reading Crematorium
The adjoining cemetery and Caversham Park take up quite an area, making this one of Reading's greenest square kilometres.
