There were 41 people killed in the air raid on Reading which took place on the 10/02/1943. A restaurant called the Peoples Pantry took the brunt of the casualties. The words written on the headstone read :- "Here lie the unidentified remains of two persons killed by enemy action 10th Feb 1943 Rest Eternal Grant unto Them O Lord". On Sunday the 10th February 2013 a memorial to the people who died will at last be unveiled.
