At the edge of the playing field is this well-preserved lawnmower. It does not appear to be used these days, but you feel it would not take much tlc to make it so.

War memorial
The war memorial is at the northern end of the village on a substantial green triangle. This is the south face. Wikipedia informs us that "it comprises an obelisk on a plinth with two clock faces, one facing north and one facing south, which incorporate various types of ammunition in them. The chains surrounding the monument are from a battleship that took part in the Battle of Jutland and they are supported on spent shell cases".

Footpath at Leckhampstead
The start of a footpath from just behind the village hall.
The path crosses the upper Winterbourne Valley and ends up at Hill Green near Peasemore.
