One of the entrances
This is one of two entrances to the old post office on Friar Street Reading, there is a second the same on the other end of the building. The middle entrance does not look so grand.

Over the door
Something missed by most people is the GR motif over the main doorway of the old Post office along Friar Street. It's covered by the Yates wine bar sign.

Sat on the bench
Friar Street in Reading on an early Saturday Morning with few people around, mind you the cold could also have something to do with it.

Former post office, Friar Street, Reading
This building is one of the first large post offices built after the end of World War I. It was built in about 1923 to the designs of Office of Works architect Albert Myers, and is typical example of the inter-war "Post Office Georgian" style. Unfortunately the current occupants have treated the building rather unsympathetically.
