The Long Ditch
A man made drainage channel which is part of the Martin Mere drainage system. It starts life as the Tarleton Runner, then flows through virtually every point of the compass in a tortuous route presumably following the lowest lying land. Its final direction is south to enter the north-westerly flowing Sluice in grid square SD4017
