Heading for the Mountains
A pair of L.M.S. Black 5 Class locomotives, Numbers 44871 and 45407 approach Buckshaw Parkway Station. Despite the "Midlander" headboard it was a "Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express" pictured in suitably wintery conditions. The train began in Manchester and was heading for carlisle.

Buckshaw Parkway railway station, Lancashire
Opened in 1938 by the London Midland & Scottish Railway on the line from Bolton to Preston, as a halt for the neighbouring Royal Ordnance Factory, this station closed in 1965. Following closure of the R.O.F, the station was rebuilt and reopened in 2011 as Buckshaw Parkway.
