Old Tram Road
The Old Tram Road is now a path linking residential areas to Preston city centre and is also well used by people at leisure. The two horse-riders in the distance had taken a wrong turn and asked for directions - a first for me!

Two Embankments
The one heading off to the right is the Lancaster Canal Tramroad, now part of National Cycle Route 55. To the left through the gates of, what is now, the Ribble Junction Nature Reserve is the one that carried the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's line from East Lancashire into Preston

What a difference a week makes!
This path looked a bit different last week: Image The other photo is a bit further northeast along the footpath but I wasn't willing to wade! This area of flat land to the south of the River Ribble and to the west of the Darwen is historically known as "The Mains" and it is a floodplain.

Trees cleared for new link road bridge
