The one heading off to the right is the Lancaster Canal Tramroad, now part of National Cycle Route 55. To the left through the gates of, what is now, the Ribble Junction Nature Reserve is the one that carried the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's line from East Lancashire into Preston
