Moss Lane at the junction with Lever House Lane
Moss Lane used to continue from here through to the A49 but, when the M6 was built, Moss Lane was cut in two. As can be seen from the road sign, it is now a "No Through Road".

Leyland Station 1963, with Up WCML express rushing past
View SE, towards Crewe and the South on the West Coast Main Line, also Manchester via Bolton. The Aberdeen - Manchester Victoria express is headed by Rebuilt Royal Scot Class 7P 4-6-0 No. 46118 'Royal Welch Fusilier' (built 11/27, rebuilt 12/46, withdrawn 6/64). This was a Summer Saturday, with similar expresses passing every few minutes.
