Main Sprit Weind, Preston
One of several very old narrow streets in this part of Preston. Weind is a Northern English and Scottish dialect word for a narrow street, alley or passage.
To the left is Rift & Co. which is a bar and nightclub which also has a good food menu. Previously the premises were run as part of the Revolution brand of bars/nightclubs.

Former Past Times Now Past Times
This view looks down Glover's Court across Fishergate. Ironically the Past Times shop is now itself Past Times.

6 Fishergate, Preston
A striking facade owing to the coat of white faience (
Image]) applied in 1915 by Longworth & Gardner to R.W. Hughes's original building of 1859. The latter work also including enlargement which was so faithful that it's hard to work out where. Grade II listed.
Built for Booths Grocers, currently a branch of booksellers Waterstone's.

The entrance to Miller Arcade, Preston
My personal opinion about the architecture is that it is so bad that it's good! To quote from the Preston Council web-site, however "An elegant Victorian building with its Italian terracotta facade modelled on the Burlington Arcade in London".

Miller House, Preston
A vast building, dated 1899 and containing two shopping arcades in a cross shape. Nikolaus Pevsner does not mention it in 'Buildings of England' - he probably averted his gaze! To quote from the Preston Council web-site, however "An elegant Victorian building with its Italian terracotta facade modelled on the Burlington Arcade in London".

The Wellington, Glover's Court, Preston
The pub looks quite old. Although it isn't listed, possibly an oversight, it could perhaps be early C19th.
