Barn at Wellow Farm
Taken from a minor road adjacent to which is this platform to aid loading and offloading. From the adjacent arable fields and equipment this is probably a barn for grain storage.

Nearing the end of the field
This field is so big (nearly 2 kilometres long) and lacking features that these marker posts are needed to follow the footpath and, here, the bridleway. The buildings of Wellow Farm are reached at last.

Footpath to Wellow
A path descends gently towards the east end of Wellow village. It goes straight across this vegetable crop and heads for the white post. To the right is Rossiters vineyard and farm shop, now incorporating Wellow post office.

Rossiters Vineyard and Post Office
This series of buildings is multi-functional, containing a vineyard and a Post Office. This does not appear to be on the Post Office proposed closure list. However, the village is campaigning against another change, a proposed wind farm, as shown by the sign.

Bridleway at Wellow
This part of the Hamstead Trail starts on Top Road, Wellow, and leads to Shalcombe, with Thorley Brook running nearby. Elm trees on the right succumbed to Dutch elm disease (beetle), but seedlings grew in their place. High winds in December 2006 took their toll though.
