This part of the Hamstead Trail starts on Top Road, Wellow, and leads to Shalcombe, with Thorley Brook running nearby. Elm trees on the right succumbed to Dutch elm disease (beetle), but seedlings grew in their place. High winds in December 2006 took their toll though.
