Freshwater: former Church Post Office
The post office branch had the curious name Church presumably because it was near the church, although it would be more usual to pick a suburb or road name. The post office opened in 1956 (there had been a previous one of the same name but that had been replaced in the 1930s) and closed finally on 13 February 2008 in the great cull of 2,500 branches nationwide.

School Green Road, Freshwater
School Green Road in the village of Freshwater on the Isle of Wight. This road forms part of the route of the A3055 road. The building beyond the roundabout is currently a clothing shop, although it has previously been a Co-op convenience store. It is built on the site of Freshwater railway station, which closed in 1953. More information about Freshwater station can be found in the Disused Stations website: http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/f/freshwater/index.shtml
