Ashcombe Farm and Brixton from Gala Cross
Another view of Image, looking further right across the Yealm valley. Heddon Wood is beyond the farm, with Gill's Wood and Ashcombe Plantation to the right. Beyond Brixton is Plymstock.

Ashcombe Farm
The farm is perched between two adjacent combes that run a short distance (to the right) to the Yealm, whose estuary lies between the near and further hills. View from the B3186 close to Gala Cross.

Ashcombe Hill
Taken from the same spot as Image and Image, which look further to the left. Ashcombe Hill is the lane running down the side of the striped field; it leaves the A3186 at Gala Cross, a few yards to the right of the camera. The wood beyond the lane is Rough Torrs, and the houses are in the western part of Yealmpton. The distant town is Plympton.

Lane near Ashcombe Farm
The lane from Puslinch Bridge to Two Crosses passes the driveway up to Ashcombe Farm on the right. The ditch on the right is collecting the various streams from a little network of side valleys.

Looking along Yealmpton Footpath 17 as it crosses a field to meet a lane junction. The wood on the left-hand hill is Ashcombe Plantation, and on the right is Heddon Wood. Image was taken roughly from where the footpath crosses into shadow.

Rough Torr Barn from Yealmpton Footpath 17
The barn was converted into a dwelling in 1986, its 150th anniversary year. The country house beyond, in a different square, is Puslinch. The wood on the right is Rough Torrs, and the shadows in the field are cast by trees along the lane from Two Crosses past the barn.
