Opened in 1876 as "Bridges" by the Cornwall Minerals Railway, later part of the Great Western Railway, on the line from Par to Newquay. The station received its current name in 1905. View north west towards Bugle and Newquay. The two original platforms were replaced by an island platform between the tracks in 1910. The passing loop and the second platform face were taken out of use in 1964.
