Saint German's church
Was originally the seat of the bishop of Cornwall, consecrated in 1261. Really surprising inside, looks more like a small cathedral

Saint German's Cornwall, Eliot Hall
This is the entrance to the priory for St. German's church. It is in the hands of the Eliot family, and falling into disrepair, it seems.

Church of St Germanus, St Germans
"The Cathedral of the South-West in Anglo-Saxon times" (Pevsner, 1951), and one of the most interesting churches in the region - few parish churches have two west towers, I would have thought. The northern (further) tower has a C13 octagon over a Norman base, and Pevsner compares it to Jumièges by the Seine http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/78/Jumi%C3%A8ges.jpg/270px-Jumi%C3%A8ges.jpg . This view is from Church Street.

St Germans Priory Church
The present church building dates to the 13th century when it was built as part of an Augustinian Priory on the site of the county’s first cathedral. When Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries, the Priory church was spared from destruction in 1539 due to its continued use as the parish church.

Town Lodge, St Germans
A view of the entrance lodge to Port Eliot shown in Image, with Church Street on the left. The pair of lodges, in "Tudor Gothic style" http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-62096-town-lodge-st-germans and with embattled oriels and parapets, dates from about 1840.
