Steam hauled train leaves Fort William, 1988
It is at the site of a former level crossing into a distillery north of the railway. The south side gate is still in place, but the north side appears to be blanked off with a continuation of an existing wall. The distillery site is now a housing estate with different road access, yet even the footbridge here is now gone - surprising, as it is a tedious deviation on foot one way or the other.

Inverlochy
Fort William is a sprawl of connected developments strung around the bend of Loch Eil and Loch Linnhe for 9km. Inverlochy was built to house workers at the aluminium smelter. The bike shop here is very good and very helpful.
