Construction at Murray Royal Hospital
A major re-building is under way at Murray Royal Hospital mental health hospital.
In the centre is on the skyline is part of the original hospital. This is a listed building, now redundant and with an unresolved future. On the left is a part of the 60's development, to be demolished. On the right is a modern unit, to remain part of the hospital.

Brand's Brae, Gannochy Estate
This is an estate of neat bungalows owned by the Gannochy Trust. The estate was constructed in the 1920s by A.K. Bell to provide good quality affordable housing.

Murray Royal Hospital
Original part of the hospital which is no longer in use.
The chapel (centre) was built in 1901 and was partly built by the patients.

Gannochy Estate houses
Gannochy Estate was constructed in the 1920s by A.K. Bell to provide good quality affordable housing. The houses are owned by the Gannochy Trust.
Note the attractive pattern of sandstone blocks forming the wall of the nearby house. The neat beech hedge is also a feature of the estate; there are 14 miles of this around the houses.
