STAY SAFE - Child's chalk graphics on London Road, Whittlesey
One of thousands of rainbow messages and drawings which became the unofficial symbol of the Coronavirus world pandemic in 2020. Drawn mainly by children they appeared in 1,000s of house windows and near houses all over the UK. At the time of this photo there were strict Government guidelines regarding travel, daily exercise and shopping and the message to everyone was "Stay at Home and Stay Safe"

Whittlesey Corner
Middle Level as it passes through Whittlesey near Peterborough. Just under the bridge is a very tight bend which is difficult for longer boats to negotiate.

The Hero of Aliwal on the bank of Briggate River, Whittlesey
This inn is named after Sir Harry Smith, a military commander from Whittlesey, who became known as the Hero of Aliwal following victory in a battle at Aliwal in India, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Aliwal
