This inn is named after Sir Harry Smith, a military commander from Whittlesey, who became known as the Hero of Aliwal following victory in a battle at Aliwal in India, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Aliwal Probably the only pub in the UK with this name?
