Woodcroft Road runs between Hurn Road to the north of Marholm (pronounced locally as Marram) and the junction of Helpston Road and Glinton Road to the south of Etton. It is home to the 13th. century Woodcroft Castle (a Grade II listed private residence). A level crossing on Woodcroft Road spans the East Coast Main Line (ECML) and the Peterborough to Leicester line. Woodcroft Crossing is reputedly the last remaining manned, gated level crossing on any British main railway line. In 2014, Network Rail applied for permission to close the crossing. The road is viewed here close to the junction with Maxham's Green Road, which branches off from Woodcroft Road close to Woodcroft Castle and culminates in a farm track which joins Heath Road to the south of Helpston. With the exception of access for residents of dwellings at its eastern end, Maxham's Green Road is closed to motor traffic (apart from agricultural vehicles) but is accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. A barrier was placed across the road some time ago to prevent any errant motorists attempting to use it as an illicit short-cut between Helpston and Marholm.

Maxham's Green Road branches off from Woodcroft Road close to Woodcroft Castle and culminates in a farm track which joins Heath Road to the south of Helpston. With the exception of access for residents of dwellings at its eastern end, Maxham's Green Road is closed to motor traffic (apart from agricultural vehicles) but is accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. A barrier was placed across the road some time ago to prevent any errant motorists attempting to use it as an illicit short-cut between Helpston and Marholm.
