James Bradford Almshouses, Helpston
The almshouses on West Street were endowed by the entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir James Bradford and were built in 1907 to provide accommodation for the poor. The almshouses are now used to accommodate senior citizens from the local area and are administered by the James Bradford Helpston Trust, a registered charity.
Sir James - who was born in Helpston in 1841 - made his fortune in the railway industry and served as chairman of the Wainfleet, Firsby and Skegness Railway. He died in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, on April 24th., 1930.

Helpston Village Hall
The village hall is located on West Street. The building was originally used to provide accommodation for Canadian troops during the First World War and was moved to and reassembled in Helpston some time afterwards. The front of the hall boasts an impressive array of Best Kept Village awards.

Helpston Post Office
The post office and general store is located on West Street close to the junction with Glinton Road, Woodgate and Church Lane. A post office has operated on this site since the late 19th. century and appeared for the first time on the Ordnance Survey map issued in 1889.
