Bretton Shopping Centre
Modern development to the west of Peterborough has brushed away the rural farmland and woods shown on the 1940s map. This area was a wood but is now the busy retail centre for the Bretton area.

Busway, Bretton Centre
This bus only road allows buses to access Bretton Centre easily. The rear of an Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 of Stagecoach Peterborough is visible: it has just arrived as a 2 from Paston via the city centre, and will become a 3 to Park Farm via the city centre.

Sign to city centre, Bretton Centre
A sign like this stands over a footpath outside Peterborough railway station, indicating the beginning of a quiet, step free route to the city centre and cathedral. It was something of a surprise to see one here, at a suburban shopping centre, indicating the beginning of a 2¾ mile walking route to the city centre.

The Airfield Cycleway is a c. 5 mile route crossing Peterborough west to east https://travelchoice.org.uk/resources/consectetur-adipisicing-elit-sed-do-eiusmod-tempor-2/ . Named, I presume, after the former RAF Peterborough airfield at Westwood https://www.abct.org.uk/airfields/airfield-finder/peterborough-ii-westwood/
