London Road Housing Development
One of the bigger brownfield reclamation projects is happening on Peterborough's western flank. The former London Brick company pits and brick making sites are and have been transformed into retail, housing and business areas. This particular site was home to the transport fleet. Lorry enthusiasts will remember the 8 wheeler AEC Mammoth Majors bedecked with a Phorpres Bricks Headboard and the iconic Phorpres man holding a brick hod. Social housing construction is under way on this site.

Brownfield Development London Road
Hopefully one day soon someone who has photographed the brick yards of Peterborough and beyond will stumble upon this web site and illuminate us with names and places like Hicks no2 yard, Eastwoods, Fletton's, Hardy's Yard and the Phorpres brick making process.

Business opportunity in Hempstead
Hempstead is the name given to a new housing development on the former London Brick industrial site. A shopping centre is required to support the community but just down the road is a very large supermarket with supporting shops so a brave investor will take this one on.

Social Housing
This brownfield development seemed to take forever to get going. The site lay derelict for many years then demolition of all the old buildings took place and an age passed then suddenly roads, services and trees are plonked into place and construction begins in 2008.
