Welney village sign
The sign depicts two skaters on the frozen River Delph or perhaps the Old Bedford River with a windmill in the background. Beneath the sign, though still part of it are a whooper swan and a mallard duck. Although double sided, both sides are identical. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6805254

Lamb and Flag, Welney
Covered on all sides by "tree"! This pub was apparently for many years an important centre for the sport of ice-skating, since the Washes regularly froze over and provided an ideal surface. However, this happens less reliably now, and (contrary to what I'd read on the net) I couldn't see any evidence of the pub's heritage inside, unfortunately.

Colour and fine architecture in Welney High Street
One of many beautiful Primitive Methodist chapels in this fenland area, this one seems to be a private house now.
