This is the site of a former pub, The Bowling Green Tap on Chase Street, Wisbech. It was still trading in 1994 according to a CAMRA guide. It has subsequently been demolished and is now open ground behind the wooden fence. The photographer saw this pub before it was demolished. This building was once The Bowling Green Inn on Lynn Road, Wisbech. The photographer has drunk in this pub before it closed in 2009. It is now a day nursery. This inn's location is shown on a map of Wisbech which was surveyed and drawn in 1853 as part of The Public Health Act of 1848 https://media.geograph.org.uk/view.php?id=2693

The Marshland Tavern once stood on this site on Lynn Road next to The Bowling Green Inn. It is now occupied by a pair of terraced houses which may be the original tavern or they may have been built on the old tavern site. The former showroom of historic Wisbech business Bodgers, on Lynn Road. They used to sell agricultural and gardening equipment and went into liquidation following a creditors’ meeting on Tuesday 19th February 2013. The following was reported in The Fenland Citizen on 20 February 2013 "Manager Sam Bodger is the sixth generation of his family to run the 160-year-old business, which employed seven people. There will be a liquidation auction on March 12 to sell the store’s contents. “We had a great summer, but over the winter, we ran out of cash,” Mr Bodger said. “We just couldn’t keep going. Winter is normally slow, but we took a lot less than normal. Then the bank said we needed to reduce our overdraft. We asked if we could delay it, but they had their schedule to work to. “It was a very sad decision to make.” He said the boom in online sales had also hit them hard in a short space of time and although they were very customer-focused, they could not compete."

This building was once The Rutland Arms on the junction of Lynn Road and Chase Street, Wisbech. It was documented as still trading in the 1994 CAMRA guide and probably closed a few years later. The photographer remembers this building being a pub before it was closed and converted into a fish and chip restaurant.
