The way we live now
Solar panels on our roofs, houses without front gardens, tiny cars, and home deliveries for almost everything. An Amazon van blazoned with the "Prime" legend.

Electricity substation
Right next door to a house in Aveland Close (behind the tree on the right in Image). The colour reveals it to be an original installation by the builder. When Western Power Distribution replace older "outdoor" units with these fibreglass lockers, they provide green ones.

An old solution
To give access to the 4 back gardens behind this terrace, a tiny footpath was constructed at the end of them.
A very 19th century solution to a 21st century problem of housing estate design!

Godiva Crescent
Named for the countess of Mercia, Godiva, mother of Hereward the Wake, and an 11th century inhabitant of Bourne.
Built in the 1960s by Parker Bros, they lack the tile-hung frontage of the larger homes on the estate, but have the typical steel-pole-porch.
