This faux dovecote makes an unusual feature on the end elevation of a house in Tin Lane.
Note that, although located in Tin Lane, this house's postal address is in Burghley Street (!)

Electricity substation
Right next door to a house in Aveland Close (behind the tree on the right in Image). The colour reveals it to be an original installation by the builder. When Western Power Distribution replace older "outdoor" units with these fibreglass lockers, they provide green ones.

Closed for the Queen's funeral
The "Bank Holiday" granted for the late queen's funeral is not the normal jolly affair. It is intended to allow the nation to watch her funeral, and so all but the most essential services will close. Even the most ardent republicans will stop work, perhaps because the schools are to be closed, but mainly in solidarity to the rest of the workforce.

Sainsbury?s opens at Bourne, Lincolnshire
The shopping experience changed completely for the people of Bourne when Sainsbury’s opened their supermarket in Exeter Street on Friday 13th August 1999, the biggest retail outlet in the town and an occasion celebrated in style with a jazz band to greet shoppers, an advertising balloon over the new building and other attractions and the date has proved to be far from unlucky because it has become the most favoured store in the town.
