The Cospatrick Memorial in Shipton-under-Wychwood
The fountain was erected by public subscription in 1878 to the memory of the 17 parishioners who perished in the Cospatrick fire on her voyage to New Zealand 17 November 1874.

Drinking fountain, Shipton under Wychwood
The drinking fountain is dated 1878 and was erected to commemorate the loss of 28 emigrants from Shipton who died in a fire on the ship taking them to New Zealand. It was listed Grade II in 1986 http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=251773

War memorial at Shipton under Wychwood
The memorial is on the village green but is largely overshadowed by the tree to the left. The Shaven Crown Hotel is behind.

The Shaven Crown
This unusual sign hangs from an equally unusual massive timber beam beside the main road through Shipton. The church of St. Mary the Virgin is across the green. The pointed structure partly hidden behind the wall is a memorial fountain better shown and described in Image Scanned from print.
