Located on the corner of Market Square and Langdale Gate, Keates of Witney is a menswear retailer and also has a hire department. The business was established in 1912. The Blossom bridal and occasional wear department was established in November 2007.

The Company of Weavers (1), 31 Market Square, Witney
The Company of Weavers is Witney's newest pub, having opened on the 21st February 2012. Not many people are opening new pubs these days, so it comes as no surprise that this is a J.D. Wetherspoon pub. The pub does not occupy all of the building. Part of the frontage belongs to the offices of the Mortgage Company. For many years the building was the Palace Cinema, which explains why it has considerable depth. In recent years it was a night club called the Palace.

The Company of Weavers (2) - sign, 31 Market Square, Witney
The name of this pub reflects the long history of the woollen blanket manufacturing industry in Witney, which continued from the Middle Ages until the closure of the last factory in 2002. In the early medieval period, the Worshipful Company of Weavers controlled the weaving trade in London. They were in existence by 1130 and still exist today, as one of London's livery companies or guilds.
