Merton College Oxford
Merton College Oxford from Christchurch meadows. Merton College was founded in 1264. It is one of three ancient Oxford colleges founded in the thirteenth century. The College buildings, set in extensive gardens and grounds, are of exceptional historical and aesthetic interest. The Library is probably the oldest surviving working library in the United Kingdom, and the Hall, Chapel, Lodge and Mob Quadrangle also date from the College's early years.

Merton Street Oxford
Merton Street Oxford This first part of Merton Street used to be known as "Coach and Horses Lane" because it was where coaches were parked to serve the Angel, the largest coaching inn in Oxford, just round the corner in the High Street.
