Wheelie bins at the front
A scourge that blights out streets now, wheelie bins here seen left out the front of the old church school spoiling the view of the building.

A view from Wantage churchyard
Many old headstones survive here, though most are badly weathered and illegible. My eye was caught by the red-brick building on the far side of Church Street. An 18th-century brick-built façade conceals its timber frame - exposed at the end elevation. (Looking closely at the photo I see that the building houses the Vale and Downland Museum - something I didn't realise at the time).

Timber-framed house in Church Street, Wantage
The façade to the street is brick-built (probably Georgian, with sash windows) while the end elevation (with mullioned windows) shows that the building is timber-framed. The building now houses the Vale and Downland Museum.
