Centre of Charney Bassett
This is the junction of New Road, left, and Main Street, right. The telephone box usually indicates a focal point in a village. This one is no longer used as a telephone box though. Note also the 30 mph repeater (reminder) sign, showing that there are no street lights in the village. Where there are street lights 30 mph repeater signs are not required.

House in New Road
New relative to the rest of the village perhaps, but these houses look much older. Or are they new but done to an older style. The use of Norman Early English lancet windows is most unusual; they are certainly not that old.
