This is the junction of New Road, left, and Main Street, right. The telephone box usually indicates a focal point in a village. This one is no longer used as a telephone box though. Note also the 30 mph repeater (reminder) sign, showing that there are no street lights in the village. Where there are street lights 30 mph repeater signs are not required.
