Castle Mill Flats, Roger Dudman Way, Oxford
Viewed from a passing train; the GWR train seen in the photo was stored in a siding. A Council planning document available online explains that Roger Dudman Way is a 1.2ha brownfield site occupying the location of other former sidings. Construction of post-graduate student accommodation started in the early 2000s and an application for more such housing was approved in 2013.

Oxford carriage sidings from the north
In the dawn light of a June day in 1980, a Banbury local train leaves Oxford past the then-extensive carriage sidings. In the foreground, an arm of the Thames (or Isis) is bridged by the ex-Great Western main line and, on the far left, the former LNWR route into Oxford Rewley Road station. For the same view 33 years later, see: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3437380 .
