Fatherstall Road rail bridge
This is what was Werneth Railway Station. For awhile it was Oldham's railway station since there is a ridge between it and Oldham itself. To get to this point the railway line was the steepest in the country - it climbing from Middlet Junction. Later they put in a less steep line via Hollywood and 2 tunnels to reach Oldham.

Hartford Works, Werneth
This is the new works of Platt Brothers & Co, established in 1842. Platts were major builders of the textile machinery that so much of Lancashire depended on and this was a large site. The office block has been illustrated by others but this floats my boat a bit more. In the left background you can see Manor mill, Chadderton. This was equipped by the rival firm of Asa Lees. My advice to budding industrial photographers is to get snapping and be snappy about it.
