This is the new works of Platt Brothers & Co, established in 1842. Platts were major builders of the textile machinery that so much of Lancashire depended on and this was a large site. The office block has been illustrated by others but this floats my boat a bit more. In the left background you can see Manor mill, Chadderton. This was equipped by the rival firm of Asa Lees. My advice to budding industrial photographers is to get snapping and be snappy about it.
