Garages at the back of Eustace Street
A trick of perspective makes it appear as if the garages have pitched roofs and chimneys, but these in fact belong to houses on Cedar Crescent.

Manor Mill, Chadderton
This is one of the best chimneys in Oldham. Royd mill is another good one.
The stone wall is actually the dam for the lodge, as the lands slopes away and a level surface is needed for water. Oldham Council were apparently thinking about acquiring the mill as a heritage project but it's no surprise that it never happened.

Kent mill, Victoria Street, Chadderton
Cotton spinning mill built in 1908 by Kent Mill Ltd and latterly part of the Courtaulds Group. Architect was G Stott. 104,000 spindles. 1200 horsepower George Saxon steam engine. Mill closed 1991 and demolished 1994. The adjoining Manor Mill is still standing.

Burnley Brow Community School
This does a poor job of filling the large block of space once occupied by Kent Mill Image Image
I took this while on a mill 'safari' in February 2008 but was somewhat dismayed that a once magnificent red brick edifice with tower, engine house and chimney had been replaced by this (pleasant enough though it is).

Manor Mill, Chadderton - chimney
This magnificent and defunct chimney was undergoing some essential maintenance. It is one of the few intact chimneys left in the Oldham area and is associated with a marvellous Edwardian mill.
