Royal Bank of Scotland, Ashton under Lyne
Formerly a branch of Williams & Glynn on Stamford Street. It is on the corner with what was Oldham Road and the nameplate is still on the side. Oldham Road was diverted several years ago around the other side of the bank in front of Lidl and this section was renamed Mill Lane.

HSBC Bank
On one corner of Stamford Street and Mill Lane is the HSBC (formerly Midland) Bank. On the other corner is postbox Image Behind the bank is a car park operated by the council. Behind the postbox is another car park operated by Simply Intelligent Parking. What is neither simple nor intelligent is the different charges and conditions between the two.

Church of the Nazarene Garden
The garden of the Church of the Nazarene on Stamford Street, Ashton under Lyne.
Ashton Church of the Nazarene started out as The Ashton Evangelical Mission in 1865 and later The Old Cross Mission. It moved to its present location in 1981.
This photo shows the coffee lounge rather than the church itself. It is open Thursdays and Fridays from 10am till 3pm and I can attest to the tastiness of their toasted teacakes.
