Yeoman Hey Reservoir
King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV of Tonga placed this commemorative stone in 1981, whilst in England for the Royal wedding (Charles and Diana). He decided afterwards that he would head north to admire, and pick up a few tips, about reservoir construction.

These rocks are at the edge of Alderman's Hill high above the A635, Holmfirth Road, out of Greenfield. This is a most spectacular viewpoint. The dam of Yeoman Hey Reservoir can be seen far below. Image

King of Tonga's Stone
In 1981, Whilst in the UK to attend the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, HM King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV of Tonga visited Dove Stone Reservoir to pick up tips on reservoir construction and design. To commemorate this visit, this carved stone has been set into the dam wall of the Yeoman Hey reservoir. Yeoman Hey Reservoir itself dates from 1880.
