Old Bell Inn, Delph
Occupying a dignified late Georgian building. The building material is described as hammer-dressed watershot stone. Watershot stonework involves each course of stone being slightly vertically tilted so that the top projects beyond the bottom, creating a narrow ledge, in order to speed up evaporation of rainwater. I would say that it is impossible to detect from this photo. Grade II listed.
Strictly speaking it is now a hotel and restaurant rather than a pub.
