Parish Boundary Marker by the A62, in parish of Saddleworth (Oldham District), Huddersfield Road in Delph, opposite the Old Bell Inn, against wall, by junction with Gate Head Road.

Old Bell Inn, Delph
Occupying a dignified late Georgian building. The building material is described as hammer-dressed watershot stone. Watershot stonework involves each course of stone being slightly vertically tilted so that the top projects beyond the bottom, creating a narrow ledge, in order to speed up evaporation of rainwater. I would say that it is impossible to detect from this photo. Grade II listed.
Strictly speaking it is now a hotel and restaurant rather than a pub.

2-4 Oldham Road, Delph
A very good example of local C18th/19th houses with long rows of windows to light weavers' workshops inside. This one was built c1800. Grade II listed.
The side wall has an old metal Cadbury's sign.
