The old house is beyond 'The Barn', which looks to have had mullioned windows inserted in its gable-end.

Label-stop, Bean Hole Head, Stansfield, Todmorden
Often these have a decorative motif, but this one has the initials 'WS'. To the right there is another, '70', in a similar style, but above the hood mould. It might have been displaced by the porch, but looks to be the right half of the year 1670, so might have been from a different window.

The former Rose and Crown, Halifax Road, Todmorden
A mid-18C building according to the English Heritage listing details. It became Big D's Bikercafé Bar. Now I suspect it might be a restaurant or guest house - I didn't go up to the door to read the small notices. The Rose and Crown is still mentioned in numerous websites. Perhaps it is to become a restaurant using the old name. To the right there is a truncated mill chimney with a tree growing from it.

A popular stop for bikers, especially at the weekends, is Big D's biker cafe and bar on the main A646 Halifax Road between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge. Click http://big-ds.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=47 for more information. Image
