Situated within a conservation area in a quiet corner of the village only a few hundred metres from the busy A671.

The Red Lion, Whitworth
A welcome refuge on a wet day. Apart from the usual Tetley's, it was serving Coach House Innkeepers and Phoenix Arizona. The last one was the best.

The Briars
This house stands at the south west corner of Whitworth Square. Built in 1763, it was later extended to provide lodgings for the patients of John Taylor, the Whitworth doctor. Taken looking down Whitworth Rake.
