Situated in The Hyde, this TE has the code LWCOL and provides telephone and broadband services to 14,222 residential and 633 non-residential premises in Colindale and The Hyde areas. This photo would appear to show the extension to the original TE buildings and a BT board indicating Colindale House can be seen near the clump of trees.

This photo shows behind the trees, the original TE building on the A5 road at The Hyde. It used to have COLindale telephone numbers until the late 1960s, but now has 0208 - 200 and 205 xxxx numbers. The postcode of this TE is NW9 6LB.

Colindale Telephone Exchange (3)
Taken from Rookery Way, this photo shows the side view of Colindale TE with two new building blocks behind it to the left of the photo. With TE digital equipment occupying less space than the previous Strowger version, one must wonder how much spare space this TE must now have. In the foreground, building work seems to be taking place with a crane to the right of the photo.

Halfords on The Hyde
The Hyde is the name of the main road, and as the post office depot is next door also the name of the whole NW9 postcode, although the Barnet borough part is always called part of (West) Hendon. For those interested NW4 used to include Golders Green until there were too many people in the postcode and the southern part became NW11.
